Pinned
In my heart I believe that the perfect pinnable skeet truly exists out in the wild universe, among the stars and luminous dust clouds.

Meanwhile, this is all I have to offer.

Pedagogy tip for teaching brass students in middle school. Calling them “big dawg” when they do something right works miracles

Take a screenshot of this GIF, and whichever new word you land on is YOUR word for 2026.

Let's. Go.

My grampa recorded his memoir on multiple cassette tapes many years ago, and my mom and I are working on turning it into a book for family (transcribing, researching locations referenced, adding photos/ maps).

This man was nuts in the best way and it is a treat to hear him recount his antics.

Eww, looks like it’s really starting to rain again, and some of the animals on the floats have lost their flowers

It’s almost like Louisiana is not surprised or inconvenienced by water from the sky

(Also, better music than Mississippi)

This Texas high school did not want you to have any doubts that they are 100% Texans from Texas. You know, Texas

The Mississippi float has:

Kermit the frog (legally distinct ™️?)

A singer with a banjo

Dancing ballerinas in pink tutus

I've said it before but it bears repeating:

#RoseParade >>>>>>> Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

✔️Floats made of organic materials
✔️HORSES
✔️Hispanic heritage

Although it's pissing down rain and the floats look a little worse for wear. Let this not be an omen for the year.

Watching the Rose Parade livestream. The floats are gorgeous so far, as always

But the sound levels are completely off for the hosts (lots of bleed over from the announcer for the in person crowd), and Californian camera men are completely incapable of wiping rain from their camera lenses 🤷‍♀️

In the quiet
Of the New Year
We will let our old dreams go

And when the spring comes
If we’re ready
We can plant new ones to grow

But in the silence of this ending
We will gather in the snow

And it’s ok if
For tonight, dear,
There are things you do not know

“many angry posts should have been naps or little packets of crackers” is deep wisdom and you don’t need to reproduce to embrace it!
one unexpected outlook change from being a dad is taking the self care people 10x more seriously when it comes to dealing with weirdly directed anger and rage (including Online). many angry posts should have been naps or little packets of crackers

My copy of Diana Wynne Jones’ Hexwood got damaged in a water incident several years ago, and I finally got around to replacing it. (Whyyyy is it out of print?!?!??)

I really miss my old edition, because this cover is a jumpscare
