No matter how many times I’ve had it it’s always been phenomenal. Including tonight-my last bottle-with one of my dearest friends in the world. I firmly believe 1995 Musar to be one of the world’s greatest bottles of wine.

Good heavens, I haven't had a Friday where I've needed a glass of wine more in many weeks. Thankfully, I had an open bottle of 2024 Kutch Wines Mindego Ridge Pinot Noir gassed in the fridge, and it is now sailing me into the weekend with glory.

Here's the annual reminder: DON'T STRESS 'bout wine for the Thanksgiving meal. Pair the wine with the PEOPLE, not the food. Open a bunch of things you think people will enjoy drinking. Full stop. Trying to "pair" wines with the maelstrom of this meal's flavors is a fool's errand.

So sad to hear of the passing of Emmanuel Reynaud today. He was one of the world's most gifted winemakers. I will always remember my visit with him.
