Living in Nola I can tell you it's like walking through a steam room outside. I don't mind it until the office is like 55 degrees.

Many of these countries are cutting staff or have far fewer staff to begin with. Anyone have any sense of the places and areas?

james surowiecki has discovered where the completely fabricated trump tariff rate has come from for each country

"...for every country, they just took our trade deficit with that country and divided it by the country's exports to us."

Any update on this? How can we help get it out of the shredder? My congresspeople are all maga so writing may just inspire them to support it

By the way, very fun to geek out on this. But is there a sense Blue Sky could avoid fall out given the fact we are personally moderating? Or is the idea that everyone would be the target?

This part doesn't make sense to me. The first amendment doesn't protect against liability for libel, slander, hate speech. 230 gave a free pass on all of that no?

Ah, I didn't know that. You've just changed my next lecture on internet policy. Thank you

Activists railed against 230 because it allowed things like misinformation that social media could limit but had no legal liability if they didn't. Now I think the question is not about the government suing Bluesky for misinformation but say a PAC or billionaire.

I hesitate to post for the first time on Bluesky only to be shouted down bc my expertise may not be seen as legit as Mike Masnick. The history of section230 was to enable more speech on the Internet by making social media companies not liable for contents.

Serious question: is there any animal besides humans that would knowingly destroy their own environment/habitat?

Was in Barça last month. Bonkers that the Gaudi house is owned by the Chupa Chupa family
