This is also my strong conviction.
Banal observation, sorry, but conversations in Prague really brought home to me that while countries come and go, cities have a historical existence and character that typically is far more resilient.

The workshop at my local bike shop has good vibes. Typical urban photo and a motivational quote on the wall.

“To me it doesn’t matter whether it’s raining or the sun is shining or whatever: as long as I’m riding a bike I know I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”

Paul Klee led an artistic life that spanned the 19th and 20th centuries, but he kept his aesthetic sensibility tuned to the future.

We’re launching a bold plan to make high-speed rail the fastest, more sustainable way to travel across Europe by 2040.

It’s a concrete timeline to remove bottlenecks, unlock investment, and harmonise rail systems ⬇️

Underground, Overground

My hunt to find locations where you can see Underground trains traveling over Overground trains (or vice versa) continues.

This vantage point near East Putney station has views of tube trains traveling over the railway. I waited 30 mins to get this shot.

For more than a week now my timeline is flooded with this specific yellow book cover.

I struggle to find relevant non-“Life After Cars”-posts on Bluesky.

Successful book launch, I’d say.

(I’ll have to buy and read it now, I presume?)
LIFE AFTER CARS is a national bestseller! The book entered the USA Today nonfiction list at number 85. Thanks to everyone who has purchased the book so far. Let’s keep it up!
