I am at the Gaithersburg MD Book Festival tomorrow (free! Come!) and was just stopped in the elevator by a total stranger. “I know you. You have a reputation. You were the only person at the Decatur Book Festival who could get an Oreo from their forehead to their mouth with no hands.”

I love a good walking blog.

For some reason, everyone is talking about cross-country rail travel?

Here is what it looked like to go back and forth by Amtrak a couple times in 2022, if you brought a sketchbook.

Today is a good day! @katebeaton.bsky.social has a new book out and I think you will love it. It has biting, and mermaids, and boats, all of which are very much my jam. She’s one of my very favorite authors and humans and perhaps it will be your jam too. 🦈

Did you know: I have a middle-grade book coming out in May! It's my first illustrated prose novel, and the title may be familiar to some of you, but I promise it's very different. (But no less weird.) I hope you like it. 😌 You can see a a lil preview here: us.macmillan.com/books/978125...
