If you've ever faced food insecurity in the past: you know how it stays with you. Things are about to get tough for 40 million people. If you're in a place where you can donate some money (or TIME) to your local food bank, please be really intentional about it in November.

As of right now the last payments from my job letting me go still haven't come through. Thankfully it's still the beginning of the month but knowing corporate america this could turn into a wait. If people could boost this or even comm me I would be grateful.

Today is Fannie Lou Hamer’s birthday ✨

“When I liberate myself, I liberate others. If you don’t speak out ain’t nobody going to speak out for you.”

Never be afraid to admit you don’t share a hobby or interest. Better to save someone the heartbreak than put yourself through something you don’t like.

Being happy, or feeling safe and secure, is not a “first world privilege.” Everyone everywhere is entitled to feel safe and content in their own way, so long as they are not harming others. Don’t feel guilty for wanting to avoid a conflict you have no part in.

Better to give someone a harsh truth than an empty promise. Knowing the former allows them to recover and move on sooner. The latter stays in their mind, eating away at their hopes and expectations.

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

How you treat a person, young or old, will shape what they become. If you always treat them as idiots, they will become idiots. If you always treat them as violent thugs, they will become violent thugs. If you always show them kindness and wisdom, they will become kind and wise.

If you can get the updated Covid booster now, do it, because more restrictions may be coming. (I got mine last week!)
Again, if you want to get a COVID19 vaccine this year, please consider getting it before RFK Jr’s fraudulent Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meets on September 18-19.

There is every reason to believe they will further restrict access. Absolutely shameful.
RFK Jr.’s CDC may limit COVID shots to 75 and up, claim they killed kids
A battle is brewing over mRNA vaccines, which could intensify backlash against Kennedy.

Freedom and happiness are linked. To be sad is believe your true self is worthless. Hiding your true self leads to giving up. When you give up, you’re easier for others to control. Experiencing joy and expressing oneself in the face of everything is the strongest form of rebellion.

Never kick yourself for not being able to solve the world’s problems. As one person, you can only do so much in a limited sphere of influence. But a good deed in one sphere can have far-reaching effects. Eventually, that little sphere on the other side of the world will feel that good deed.

I haven’t posted in a while, so I figured I should share these doodles I made while on vacation last week. I think I like drawing with pencil/paper more than digital.

The design for this Bonnie was made by an old friend of mine back when I was on Tumblr. Brings back good memories. :)

I think for humor’s sake we’ve desensitized ourselves to the meaning of the words we speak. I think people are way too comfortable wishing death onto others.
