"an attack on democracy", says minister who ignores an entire demographic and instead listens to people who want to eliminate said demographic.
Repeated criminal damage to vital medical care is unfair to trans people and an attack on democracy, Wes.

And yet, some of us try to put our bank cards into fences and need random passers by to tell us they're not cash machines.
I love scotland.

#OtD 11 Apr 1914 a UK anarchist conference began in Newcastle. The @DailyMirror reported that it "sounds very terrible" but that the delegates were "in reality the mildest people imaginable… including three girls in the 'flapper' stage" stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/8263...

I don't get all the embalming etc they do in the u.s. Open caskets aren't usual in the UK at funerals in my experience, there's a couple of days viewing available beforehand but not many people use it.
I get that seeing the person is comforting to some but making them look alive is weird.

Look if a man had recently become a bipartisan folk hero for allegedly killing a CEO for denying people healthcare...I'm not sure my opening salvo would be voting to strip a large chunk of a gun toting population of healthcare. That's just me though.

The billionaires can only be stopped by a united working class, and the realisation that we will have to destroy capitalism entirely. We cannot survive the future without smashing the concept of capitalism so firmly that it can never arise again.

The time for half measures is long past.
Listen, Broligarchy is not some cute synonym for oligarchy. It's genuinely different & WAY more dangerous.

I'm a sociologist who's been studying the ultra-rich globally for 17 yrs, entering their world as an offshore wealth mgr. Published 2 books abt them.

🧵Broligarchs are distinct in 3 ways:
There’s a sort of Trump apologist, a relatively small but loud subset, who probably don’t realize or intend to be, but are so attached to a previous hyperbolic claim that they deny anything important changed.

-US was already an oligarchy
-US was already fascist
-Biden gave Israel a blank check
-Etc

That's a denial of science. That's not how humans work. No matter how much you want it to be different, human bodies are much more complex than your ideology says.

Well, why not? Everything else is fascist these days.

Read "U.S. forces land on Greenland's coast" and barely batted an eyelid.

So that's where we are, then.
Futuristic satire takes a moment to distinguish from the rapidly accelerating collapse.

No, you leave people alone. Take your bigotry and fester in your lonely corner with it.

Yup, denial of the complexity off biological reality including genetics and endocrinology for 2 examples, leads to people thinking that gender is binary and can be ascertained at birth by looking at genitals. So very 19th century.

Just a line to express solidarity with Dr Upton who has had the courage to face down her critics in Scotland.

I know that she has the support of her work colleagues.

Her stand is important for all trans employees and their use of gender-appropriate facilities, to which they have every right.

No ai is ready to cover that because the folk doing the coup are unaware of the work being done, let alone teaching their ai to do it.

If they did make an ai clever enough to do the jobs that all the people they're fìring actually do, it would remove the air from the room where they sleep

This is where musk and his pals learn what workers everywhere know; their ideas only ever work because workers have to find a way to make them.

The private sector has depended on all these 'superfluous' government workers to make everything function despite having to fulfil impossible demands cont
