I don't get all the embalming etc they do in the u.s. Open caskets aren't usual in the UK at funerals in my experience, there's a couple of days viewing available beforehand but not many people use it.
I get that seeing the person is comforting to some but making them look alive is weird.

Look if a man had recently become a bipartisan folk hero for allegedly killing a CEO for denying people healthcare...I'm not sure my opening salvo would be voting to strip a large chunk of a gun toting population of healthcare. That's just me though.

Yup, denial of the complexity off biological reality including genetics and endocrinology for 2 examples, leads to people thinking that gender is binary and can be ascertained at birth by looking at genitals. So very 19th century.

I know that she has the support of her work colleagues.
Her stand is important for all trans employees and their use of gender-appropriate facilities, to which they have every right.
