NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.
Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions

NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold.
We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940.
2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

As a fan of the Wicked stage show, I went in skeptical of the movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! The sets, the costumes, the musical numbers, Cynthia and Ariana were all fantastic. And I'm not even mad they split it up into Part 1 & 2. Looking forward to seeing part 2!
