i've been saying for years that pinterest as a home for "inspo" has always been bad. it's full of people reposting artists' work without permission. it's a site that runs on art theft.

Been dealing with some intense headaches all month- they end up knocking me out most evenings 😔 Hoping they pass so I can finish some of this pile & use my computer (haven’t been able to get on for more than a few minutes since the first week of January 💀).

Ack, this sort of thing is vile. Someone who used to be very close to me did that with a very personal OC of mine. Its made me reluctant to ever post them, or any of my OCs tbh. Which sucks bc its like..16+ years of working on them and now its sealed in a vault. Its..disheartening to say the least.
speaking as someone who had my own ocs stolen in the past, it's a gut wrenching thing to go through.
i don't think people realize how it affects the artist you're stealing from. it not only hurts them in that moment but makes them hesitant to share their art in the future.

Embracing my interests has been getting me through my 30s! Its helped me learn to love myself, and find more joy in the small things. Also helped me adjust to being comfortable with the sensation of joy itself! Celebrate the things that bring you happiness! Joy is not Immaturity!!
my only notes to people under 30: your 30s aren't for ditching fandom, they're for re-evaluating all the "cringe" stuff you liked as a teenager through the lens of someone who can appreciate it fully, going, "that owned, actually," and becoming even more unhinged about it. please look forward to it.

this def connects to empathy & sincerity being seen as weak/uncool/cringe. If you show passion you are a fool, if you don’t gain money from all actions you lack drive. All actions must lead to victory, otherwise ur a loser- and losers cant have joy.

Been reflecting a bit & I think I run into issues with feeling a scene of belonging in fandom spaces bc of how cut-n-dry folks can be? the language can be v polarizing, I often feel (in these spaces) like I enjoy something TOO MUCH or not enough. 🫠 Its not everyone, loud voices just stick sometimes.

Apologies for the radio silence! Work/life is taking a front-seat priority & I haven’t had the chance to use my computer much (or do artwork for that matter). 😔 Atm I create as a hobby, so my postings will be erratic! I desperately wanna work on art before Feb- fingers crossed!!
