Right now someone who signed up to bring pumpkin pie to Friendsgiving is preparing to make some keto abomination which they will further ruin by cutting the agave syrup by 2/3. They will be silently disinvited from all future Friendsgivings.

My house came with an electronic air cleaner instead of a traditional filter on the furnace. Based on my research it uses electricity, is worse at actually filtering air and requires monthly maintenance but on the bright side it sounds like God's own bug zapper every time the blower kicks on.

We’ve made adding things to your calendar easy! Download this file. You can’t import it to your calendar, but you can see what it would look like if you could. From there, you can open it in every app except the calendar. (I pause to give a soft, easy chuckle.) Anyway, it really is so, so simple!

Here I am, thinking I bought a nice house in a good neighborhood when suddenly one of my neighbors gets a CyberTruck. Ugh.

This. I'm tired of pretending that we're one Get Out The Vote campaign from flipping any given state when most of the white voters are incorrigible shitbags who vote to harm others even/especially while harming themselves. I grew up in a red part of California and it's fucking grim.
there’s some truth in this, but the gap between deep red and blue states isn’t explained by voter suppression alone. the white populations in deep red states vote republican at very high rates. both things are load-bearing.
I understand why a lot of white liberals are like, fuck the south, because they think about the people in power who are mostly white conservatives. But that is only because of Jim Crow, voter suppression, a lack of real funding for Dems there

I think the thing I like about Alexander Skarsgård as an actor is that for a 6'4" viking he plays characters who should be like 5'2" really well. Just a little guy.

As a boomer I don’t know why they’re having this “Bad Bunny“ fellow play the Super Bowl and not a good band like the guys who play Mustang Sally 4 times a night at Putter’s Sports Bar every Saturday.

Thrilled about the judge's ruling regarding ANY NG in Oregon. Dreading the inevitable 9th circuit stays and the 6-3 Supreme Court decision. But tonight a win is a win.

If The Stuff (1985) actually happened today like 50% of TikTok would be dudes wearing sunglasses in pickup trucks eating gallons of it on camera calling us libtards and tradwives feeding it to their kids trying to push it as some kind of liver cleanse.

Man, if this Netflix series is even partially true, that Ed Gein fella wasn't hooked up right.

Cute zoomer cashier just said “cool aesthetic, by the way” and I don’t think she was even being sarcastic so I’ll be riding that high for the rest of the day.

if you are at all skeptical of the idea that a person's "media environment" can meaningfully impact their basic understanding of reality consider I just heard someone reference a show called "Bob Hearts Abishola" that is apparently not only real, but also ran for five entire seasons on CBS

"Why can't flying be like it was in the 60s? Why is everything so bad now?" You just sorted by lowest fare and booked a $100 11:30pm cross country flight. That's what happened to it.

Just so I have this documented somewhere that it's findable. Installing Ollama on Ubuntu w/ Nvidia GPUs:

apt install nvidia-driver-575-open (this changes in the future)
apt install nvidia-cuda-toolkit
reboot
nvidia-smi (to make sure your GPU(s) are recognized)
curl -fsSL ollama.com/install.sh | sh

"Would you like to drink a quart of milk?"
No thank you, that sounds like too much milk.
"What if we put a little coffee and some vanilla syrup in it?"
Oh, that sounds delicious, thank you.
