If you want to watch one program while recording another, the TV does not have to be on Channel 3
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

Are you ready for a seven-hour film?
“Satantango” is more than a movie — it’s a challenge!

If you’re an MCU stan/completist and you still haven’t seen THE MARVELS, that REALLY says a lot about you.

I attended a sneak screening of it and, at the end, I remember one middle-aged guy in the theater resting his arms, looking at the screen, tears down his face, absolutely wrecked.
Rewatched SPANGLISH and despite or indeed perhaps because of its deeply confounding combination of Brooksian idiosyncrasy, mostly accidental but truly blinkered privilege, and real sincerity, I kind of loved it.

For me, 2025 will always be The Year I Didn’t Get a @neon-rated.bsky.social Box.

And I’ll never forgive them for that.

I feel like I’m the only one who realizes that everything that happens in this administration is the work of mentally unstable/unfit people — and impeachment hearings should begin just for that.

I always thought it was genius that, in the Marx Brothers’ zany cinematic universe, Zeppo was often cast as the straight man/romantic lead/sane voice of reason — making him the oddest character of any Marx Bros. film.
Nine Marx Bros. movies are on TCM New Year’s Eve from 5:30am-8pm ET.

Six of the films aren’t on any subscription or ad-supported streaming service, so don’t miss out.

Day 29: I did a deep dive on the NASHVILLE soundtrack for @avclub.com. (You thought I was gonna tag @nashvillescene.com, didn’t ya?) www.avclub.com/nashville-ro...
Music soothes, satirizes, and distracts in Robert Altman's sprawling epic Nashville
The way music is used in the filmmaker's tongue-in-cheek masterpiece Nashville feels just as modern and political as ever, 50 years later.
