It has been six years since the Gender Autonomy Act was passed in Iceland. In those six years, none of the usual fears that anti-trans advocates warn against have manifested - and trans people, non-binary people and intersex people have enjoyed increased rights and protections.

A reminder: there is no such thing as “too many” people being trans.

Alltaf þegar að ákveðnir flokkar tala um gera hlutina af skynsemi, þá tala þau eins og þau hafi fundið upp fyrirbærið skynsemi. Vá skynsemi, what a concept. Never been done before!

One of the wickedest things Wes Streeting has ever done is push politically convenient falsehoods about suicide rates amongst young trans people. We have new data from the National Child Mortality Database that exposes the truth he tried to cover up.
New data shows surge in trans kids’ suicides following healthcare rollbacks | Good Law Project
A freedom of information request by Good Law Project has found that deaths by suicide of trans young people under 18 surged following the withdrawal of gender-affirming healthcare

Apparently some people are upset Helen of Troy is being played by a black woman because it’s not “historically accurate”. You know, Helen the demigod, daughter of Zeus who hatched from an egg after Zeus turned into a swan and seduced her mother? Yeah, that Helen.

Younger generations have “fallen out of love” with Harry Potter because:

a) they didn’t grow up with it and never fell in love with it
b) there are plenty of new stories to enjoy
c) the author is a hateful millionaire obsessed with bullying a tiny minority, so parents don’t show it to them

It exasperates me when people talk of things like banning under 16s from social media. It feels like people don't understand at all how the internet works, and how easy it is to get past these sorts of regulation. It will never solve the real problem, and only creates further frustration.

The fact people voted this senile meglomaniac twice tells you how utterly devoid of sense and reasoning people can be. He doesn’t even properly know the name of the country he’s wanting to invade.

"WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED" anti-trans campaigners shout, while appearing on the front page of every single newspaper and interviewed on all major news platforms in the country repeatedly for the past 10 years. Pretty sure you have the wrong definition of 'silenced', but okay.

I’m so happy Trump recognises you don’t own land because your ancestors landed a boat there at some point. That means he can give America back to its Native people. What a hero.

Ég hefði haldið að flokkurinn sem talar mest um að menningu og sjálfstæði íslensku þjóðarinnar sé ógnað af útlendingum myndi hafa hæðst þegar að sendiherra erlendrar þjóðar talar um að innlima Ísland og gera það að fylki annarar þjóðar.

“The dangerous thing here is the idea that a President can just decide that a leader is not legitimate & then invade the country… If that were the case, that’s the end of international law, that’s the end of the UN charter, that’s the end of any kind of legal limits on the use of force.”

So scary.
