Good for him!!! Like Farmelo (who will be in the Arizona Fall League), Celesten just needs to get as many competitive ABs as possible before 2026 Spring Training.
Mariners prospect Felnin Celesten was taken first overall in the LIDOM rookie draft by the Toros del Este. LIDOM (Dominican winter ball) is a good spot for a player like Celesten, who missed a little time with injury this year, to get some extra competitive reps.

What a debut for Parker Messick! 6.2IP, scattered 7 hits, allowed only 1 run, and struck out six while walking only one. Hats off to him! Expect more of that from him in the future.

T-Mobile on the other hand is middle of the pack, with a 96. It stands to reason that Vinnie would benefit from T-Mo’s “short porch” in right field, much like Luke Raley did last year.

And this is completely ignoring the fact that he massively outperformed his salary in 2023 and 2024, so he is well clear of being “underwater.” Thinking of Julio’s extension like that just doesn’t make any sense whatsoever and it’s not based in fact.
According to RosterResource on Fangraphs, Julio is making $20,185,714 this year. If we assume 1 fWAR = $8 million (which may be a little light), then Julio would need ~ 2.5 fWAR to be “worthy” of his contract. He’s already at 2.4 fWAR, and projected for another 2.3 fWAR for the rest of the season.
