I see some folks are introducing themselves to the masses on this website. What you might want to know about me is in my profile with one exception.

My wife Carrie passed away in August after battling colon cancer for over two years. This was my tribute to her shortly after her passing.
My favorite Mariners fan
A love story rooted in baseball.

I think Bad Bunny just gained more yards than the Patriots have thus far.

Plus some good news for the pen included in the post below.
With the offseason coming to a close, #Mariners insider Shannon Drayer takes stock of the club's roster heading into spring training.

Good morning!

Brendan Donovan is an ideal pickup for a #Mariners team intent on reaching the World Series in 2026 and simultaneously promoting from within.

My thoughts...
Mariners add established bat to infield mix
Seattle finally gets Brendan Donovan. A seemingly ideal addition for a club intent on reaching the World Series and promoting prospects from within in 2026.

Six #Mariners expected to receive a lot of playing time in 2026 had a strikeout rate below the MLB average (22.5%) last year.

Brendan Donovan (13%)
Josh Naylor (13.7%)
Cole Young (18.3%)
J.P. Crawford (18.7%)
Julio Rodríguez (21.4%)
Dominic Canzone (21.9%)

“I would say similar to where we ended the year, as a starting point.” - JeDi addressing 2026 payroll last October

He’s on track to be correct. #Mariners spending continues to be mid-pack compared to the rest of MLB.

Not an original idea. Forgot the originator. (I’m sorry!). But it’s a fun nugget, so I’m sharing it.

Most NFL receiving yds after hitting age-40. There are 66 players with zero yds between Mercedes Lewis and Brett Favre.

Jerry Rice’s final 362 yds were with the #Seahawks.

#Seahawks had a point differential of three vs the Rams in three games.

I’m resharing my tribute to Mrs A’s #Seahawks fandom from last year. We actually have more things in common than what divides us.

Carrie the Seahawks fan
You may have heard about Carrie's love for the Mariners. But she possessed a similar passion for the Seahawks, too.

This piece written right after the ALCS is worth revisiting, IMO.

Yes, there’s still time for the #Mariners to make meaningful acquisitions. But to date, the team’s splashiest move has been re-signing one of its own free agents.
How will the Mariners approach the offseason?
Promises of adequate financial resources for the front office have been made and broken before. Will this offseason be different?

Thoughts on how Nico Hoerner could help the #Mariners.

I know, that’s a picture of Ian Happ.
Nico Hoerner and the Mariners?
A hitter with great on-base ability, who is also a disruptor on the bases and a top-shelf defender? Sign me up.

My thoughts on Nico Hoerner. An excellent alternative to Brendan Donovan, assuming Donovan doesn't end up with the #Mariners.

Don’t agree with Demond Williams’ decision to leave UW. But he turns 20 in March. The grown-ass men, particularly those in the media, harshly criticizing his choice should remember this.

I mean, how sound was your judgement at 19?

Did you know: there have been many, seasons where 60+ active players eventually made HOF? Even with a fraction of the teams we have now?

Not defending all choices within. Vets Committees went *nuts* for a while. But if you're saying "it's too big" now, no.

In honor of Julio Rodriguez’s birthday, here’s some bonkers stats so far in his career

- 11th all-time in Mariners career bWAR (22.9)
- 12th all-time in bWAR through four seasons (credit @lukearkins.bsky.social)
- 6th all-time in wRC+ by a Mariner

Which is the most impressive?

Happy 25th Birthday to Julio Rodríguez!

Highest bWAR accrued by a player in their first four seasons since baseball integrated in 1947…

The #Mariners signing Rob Refsnyder today may not seem like big news. But hey, the Hot Stove has cooled of late. So, let’s consider what Refsnyder's presence may mean for the M's in 2026.

#Mariners potentially interested in re-signing Eugenio Suárez?

My previous thoughts regarding Geno returning to Seattle…

What about Geno?
The good vibes and home run power Eugenio Suárez brings to the table are real and matter. But will the pending free agent return to Seattle?
