We posted yesterday on FB about the importance and role that the Integrated Warning Team plays, especially as it pertains to Winter Weather Forecast Messaging (and a lot more).

It's good info that the general public is not probably aware of, so we hope this helps.

Good morning friends! I just wanted to share a couple of pictures with you.

Here's the back side of a thunderstorm along I-70 this morning.

It's expected to be very hot today, so stay hydrated and safe out there.

2026 Could see the beginning of real issues with forecasting. The current admin is going to be removing multiple operational segments of #NOAA.

There's a lot of smoke in the air tonight, here in Kansas City. It's all coming up from Oklahoma and Kansas it seems.

Things look like they'll be a little stormy for KC tomorrow between 3-5 PM. The further east you go towards and into Saint Louis, the worse the storm impacts are expected.

Weather Thoughts:

Here in the KC area, around and after the new year, up until just a couple weeks ago, we had several rounds of pretty active weather patterns that brought snow and other precipitation.

I can't recall anything in recent years quite like that..
