Probably the third worst thing about AI is how it’s emboldened the loudest and most art-illiterate assholes to scrutinize every piece of art for any evidence of AI usage. Just a flood of shitposters circling JPG artifacts and loose brushstrokes desperately seeking a crumb of moral superiority.

Saw Superman with the family. Fantastic movie! The most memorable part was definitely at the start of the credits when my wife got up and a woman who arrived an hour early for the next showing ran up and sat in her seat. We were the only ones in a theater that uses assigned seating. Real highlight!

Getting linked to a certain review on Glassdoor; just to be abundantly clear, it has nothing to do with me. I don't read or leave Glassdoor reviews because I think the system itself is inherently dishonest on both ends.

My wife and I beat Split Fiction; what a fantastically amazing game. Complete joy of an experience from start to finish, can highly and easily recommend it.

I used to run an online store that sold alphabet-themed Nier Automata fanart.

Here’s what this taught me about B 2B sales:

“If you still want the old challenge you can just turn <wildly convenient new integrated feature> off”

and if I wanted to play an escape room I can just lock myself in the bathroom, right? My dude they design around these features, none of the charm or thought of the original challenge is in there

All this talk trying to shift the blame to Ukraine for the invasion of their own country is monstrous, and it sounds like EXACTLY the line of reasoning they’ll use to justify and excuse away an invasion of Canada.

You know a franchise is hitting That Era when they start using subtitles like:

Bloodlines
Revelations
Requiem
Genesis
The Return
Rise of the <x>

before the inevitable reboot+sequel that’s just the first movie’s name with the word “The” in front of it.

For any 2k legal eagles watching my posts, I am not retweeting as an expression of sentiment, I am merely expressing general encouragement to another UI practitioner.
When I see a UI and go "oh I could do that easily huh maybe I'm getting better" then immediately "wait gods that's supposed to be a $60 game that's probably not a good thing for the game" but then "oh but hey I'm improving! yay me!"
ok, finally got civ! some early thoughts:

1) changing civs every era like humankind is as bad here as it is there. really robs the game of a sense of continuity or rivalry.

2) the UI has this whole veneer of...ipad version, it's really surprising given how gorgeous prev games were

Tonight is a weird night. I have to speak hypothetically here, but trust that it can be both cathartic and frustrating reading negative comments on something you poured a lot of effort and passion into, especially when all that work of yours was swept out of it and you know it would have helped.

What strikes me is how many studios are back to hiring in-office only but are also no longer offering relocation assistance.
