After #Slaughter of #Jews lighting #Hanukkah candles at #Bondi #Beach #Sydney #Australia, most News fucked up badly: wouldn't show Jews as targets, some didn't even mention #murder. Look at #Antisemitism &effort it took to deny Jewish blood, &how easily was fixed:

This all text only list the modifications I made to the headlines. However, the image clearly shows that if I listed it here with a description, the original headline omitted any reference to Jews or Hanukkah being the actual Target. I showed the headlines original, side by side with my additions, to show the effort it took in anti-Semitism to deny Jews as murder victims.

The BBC article actually, surprisingly, did not omit the reality that Jews were targets. This comes after a scathing internal and UK government report showing the BBC had long been committing actual anti-semitism.

Reuters at least got this part right. Strange that Reuters and bbc, and nbc, and the New York post, are pretty much the only ones that even mentioned it until hours later, if at all

When you have a column to write, Ms Pardue-Schultz, and you're in bed in the afternoon with a cold and throwing up and 101º fever, someone else writes it for you or the editor will simply print something else. Last time I checked, daycare workers got paid and require certification. Last time I checked, nannies, housekeepers, and even babysitters got paid for their time. Last time I checked, "work for a wage" constitutes a "job", one that - if you don't do this work, you have to pay someone else to do this work.

Your dismissal of the effort it takes to do the job well demeans the accomplishments of those who do their job with pride instead of choosing someone else to do it for them. There's a reason that daycare and preschool isn't cheap. It's not because it's easy. It's because taking care of your young children and family and household constitutes work. Often, expensive work.

It's true some stay-at-home parents squander the "free" time in their lives by tending to only their job's bare minimum requirements. There's a large contingent of people who "skate" by doing the bare minimum of their job's requirements, in far too many occupations. That broad brush-stroke doesn't even represent on the canvas those who fill their time actually being parents to their young children.
