This isn’t institutional capture. It’s a parallel epistemic system built outside medicine, using influencer dynamics, curated anecdotes, and spiritualised autonomy to replace verification, deliberation, and accountability.

Sadly true...
I have wasted too much time trying to get the sh*t fixed do e it with couple airlines (really painful, and nothing got done. Countless time to Intuit to a point that I bought a share _just_ to escalate things as "shareholder")...
+1 to this

And you know what: however poor Delta's support is, because they fly direct to where I need to go (or a family member needs to go)... they still get the same business

Also why they will forever have no incentive to improve... unless competition forces them

bsky.app/profile/noco...
Delta outsources their IT and treats it as a cost center. Massive mistake IMO when that IT is a load bearing part of their operation. Remember they recovered very poorly after the CrowdStrike outage.

"Fundamental" truths about software:

- Code is liability

- The more code you have, the more bugs you tend to have

- The more complex a system, the more important architecture becomes

- Writing maintainable code is a lot more effort than just getting it to work

American complaining on online store "The shipping is too stiff."

Well... This has nothing to do with the e-store and fact that tariffs is a mess + shipping has been more expensive with all providers.

You can complain to * look at notes " ah yeah... To your "elected officials".

NEW: Even factoring in economic growth, the House tax bill would still add to the debt -- more than $3 trillion if you factor in the costs of Republicans' agenda and the fact that the debt itself would become more expensive to service.

Make it a reverse check.

That if THEY call, THEY have to give you a TOTP. Still vulnerable to "man-in-the-middle".

Best is still... No phone.
You receive a call on your phone.

The caller says they're from your bank and they're calling about a suspected fraudulent payment.

"Oh yeah," you think. Obvious scam, right?

The caller says "I'll send you an in-app notification to prove I'm calling from your bank."

#OTD in 1986, Chornobyl’s reactor No.4 exploded, releasing 400 times more radiation than Hiroshima.

While Soviet officials fled, locals were left in the dark. The truth emerged only after radiation reached Sweden.

It marked the start of Ukraine’s break from Soviet rule.

Interesting error on an HP OMEN laptop: nvlddmkm Error (ID 0, 14, 153).
Only appears after 72H running. bios, driver et al. all up-to-date, fresh OS too, Win 11.
Been a really head-scratcher to find the root cause.

Next attempt : Change DRAM.

I still put a mask on when I get in the plane or crowded space...
Mainly not for COVID but for regular flu-like issues and MOSTLY to not smell the bad breath and stinkiness of everyone else.
Also to not get a dry throat in planes.

Interesting... Knowing some shop get really really stupid charge back and they never one *any* of them always the customer. And for claim that where outrageous...
Today I learned why Shopify-powered dropshipping scams work:

Amex refuses to allow filing a chargeback when a webshop scams a customer by advertising an AI-generated image, sending something else... and then offering money back only if paying for shipping + tracking to a warehouse in China

🧵 Yesterday I shared my views on how disordered discourse has captured the US state and the risk of that happening elsewhere, but I don’t want to leave you hanging without proposing a solution.
What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.
