Interesting that in this ‘immigration’ action the two individuals murdered by ICE are US citizens. It’s not about immigration, it’s the damaged ego of a small, small man mad because the voters of MN rejected him three times. Donald Trump is a pathetic, deranged, narcissistic loser.

Why haven’t these two done more? Because, secretly they like it. They’re part of the most protected class in America. Laws don’t apply. Taxpayers fund the best healthcare available. Gerrymandered job security. What’s not to like? When an accounting comes, there’s blood on their hands too.

What happened in Minneapolis was inevitable. It’s what happens when a masked mob of untrained, unaccountable thugs are encouraged to terrorize the public. It’s also incredibly inevitable that the regime would defame the murder victim. The same for a congress that will move on as if nothing happened

Day 6 goes to my favorite guitarist, the French/Algerian Pierre Bensusan. At intermission during a concert I told him about hearing ‘Nice Feeling’ the first time. I pronounced it with a long I, only he mentioned it had to do with the French city. Oh well, enjoy!

Day 5 of my mission to improve the world through music brings me to ‘Les Barricades Misterieuses’ by Francois Couperin. Originally for a keyboard instrument it’s played here on the theorbo.

Day 4 of my mission to make the world better through music. My hot take is that ‘The Rhythm of the Saints’ is more satisfying than ‘Graceland.’ Both great albums, but for me ROTS just has more range. Enjoy!

It’s day 3 and despite current events I will not falter. ‘Ombra mai fiu,’ sometimes called Handel’s Largo. It’s my candidate for best ever love song to a tree. Here sung beautifully and theatrically by Cecelia Bartoli. Keep the faith.

Well, it’s been a pretty ugly year. I do believe that spreading a little positivity can help. I am going to post a piece of music that makes me smile every day, at least when I remember. Here’s one to close out the year by two Canadian greats.

Maybe it’s just me, but isn’t it weird that we never hear anything about Trump’s chief of staff? That’s usually a pretty high profile job, but she’s completely below the radar.

There seems to be a pattern here of one criminal pardoning another. Weird.

Charlie Kirk was the product of our time, a provocateur intent on outrage. Because that’s what grabs attention. Did he really believe what he said? Who knows. Most of it was disgraceful. But he was a human being who didn’t deserve to be killed. Another victim of gun violence. And so it goes.

I’m an immigrant currently living in Portugal. The thing I love most about this wonderful country is how I have been received here. My Portuguese language skills are minuscule and I am obviously a foreigner. But all I have seen is kindness and welcoming. I’m seen as a person. It’s so refreshing.
