Lifelong liberal from Tennessee, currently living in peaceful Portugal. Enthusiastic traveler and musician. Hometown’s finest, probably only Hurdy-Gurdyist. Practicing sarcastician and lover of all things humorous. Non-snobby beer and food oficionado.
Apparently current DOJ lawyers all skipped class the day they taught law at law school.

Trump isn’t known as TACO for nothing. He was never going to do something that might make Putin mad. Putin pulls the string and Trump dances. It’s obvious to any one paying attention.

I’m not a lawyer, but that seems, well, pretty bad.

No, no. Absolutely not a cult.

You just hate to see it, don’t you?

I live in Portugal and Chinese EVs are everywhere here.

Let me add, the recently pardoned Cleta Mitchell. Accepting a pardon requires an admission of guilt.

I love all the Sibelius symphonies. I played in orchestras most of my life and his are a lot of fun. The 6th is absolutely crazy in terms of tonality, but very beautiful. Sibelius called it a drink of clear spring water. The 7th is a tough nut to crack, but one of my favorites, worth the effort.

Yes, that Scheherazade is pretty famous. He was quite a character, he composed hundreds of symphonies. I think his being a composer himself gave him additional insight. There’s a video of him discussing Sibelius 6th symphony which is worth tracking down.

He’s my favorite interpreter of music by Sibelius.

It’s always the arrogance of their ignorance that most amazes me.

I remember a time when someone who was found to be so disgraceful, so amoral they would slither under a rock never to be seen in public again. I really miss those days.

The block button is my friend. Time arguing with idiots is time wasted.

The cost for premiums increased nearly every year during my career. It’s an insane system. I live now in Portugal and here everyone has access to healthcare. I ran a very high fever and my wife took me to the hospital emergency room. Examined, treated and given a prescription. 65 euros, about $70.

Well said, and I would add one thing. Why in the world is American healthcare tied to employment? It probably once benefited employers, but now it’s a logistical and administrative nightmare for them. We have an excellent option, make Medicare available for everyone.

To quote the eminent philosopher Forrest Gump, ‘stupid is as stupid does.’

His eyes are very porcine, don’t you think?
November 19, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Hey, don’t worry! Chill out my friend! He’s going to send you $2,000 to cover all your healthcare needs. He cares only for you and your family. Just keep it under &2,000 and everything will be A-OK.
November 19, 2025 at 4:35 PM
The word ‘stupid’ comes to mind.
November 19, 2025 at 11:52 AM
You’re likely a troll, but I will respond to your ignorance. So far Trump’s concept of a plan is to give Americans $2,000 to cover their healthcare needs. Anyone who’s ever been to the hospital knows just how ridiculous that is. So no, this isn’t what Americans voted for.

It was worse than weak. It was cowardly and completely lacking morals. ‘Things happen’, he said about the murder and dismemberment of one of your colleagues. What’s weak is the Washington Post’s response to the president and his vile guest.

I live in Portugal where 90% of energy production comes from renewable sources. The US is an outlier, completely run by oil companies.

His may be the most punchable face in history.

It certainly seems the vision of a future behind bars has focused what little remains of his functioning brain.
