The original and still the BEST!!!!
35 years ago today HOME ALONE was released in theaters. Anchored by its star-making performance from Macaulay Culkin, an all-time great John Williams score & the shared vision of John Hughes & Chris Columbus, it was almost immediately minted as a pillar of 90s pop culture & a modern holiday classic.

Myers and Shyer work their magic with this classic 90s comedy remake along with The Parent Trap (1998). Steve, Marty and Diane (RIP) are an absolute delight. Alan Silvestri’s underrated score is just sweet to perfection. One of my childhood favorites.

Charles Shyer & Nancy Myers work their magic in remaking the 1950 Spencer Tracy classic into a shamelessly sweet & sentimental update tailored to Martin's witty comic skillset. Even if it’s filled with fluff, there‘s a heartfelt warmth to the delivery that makes this one a true comfort movie for me.

All time comic classic. As perfect as comedies get. As sweet. As touching. As funny.
