Whatever.
An app like Shazam but it’s for when you go hiking. It identifies who is playing music on a bluetooth speaker and immediately mutes it.

I call it ShutzUp.

For no explainable reason my brain woke me up at 4 AM and DEMANDED to know what Survivorman is up to now. I did not get a good night sleep but thankfully now I have answers to questions only I am asking.

My name is Travis and I collect vinyl now.

Many of our sci-fi dystopian stories usually involve some kind of sinister artificial intelligence that wipes out humanity. Now that we've all used ChatGPT it's clear that the end of humans will be more of a Robo-Idiocracy situation.

Dave Chapelle performs stand up entitlement, I haven't seen him do comedy in years.

Went and bought a record I really like on vinyl. I was expecting it to be a regular version but was pleasantly surprised to find I actually got a limited colored vinyl version. These are the small things that make me happy lately.

On the metro and when we arrived at the Hollywood / Highland stop everyone with red hair got off. What are they planning?

Back in 2017 I recorded a silly song about machines that fart. I just found out that there's a company that'll press your ashes into vinyl so that your remains can forever be a part of an audio recording. It is decided - Fart Machines shall be my mausoleum.

The world is obsessed with becoming more complicated and dumber at the same time.

So Bandcamp put out their best of lists and they did it by genres. I was not expecting a "best field recordings of 2025" category. What's on it you might wonder. Allow me to tell you a couple of the highlights…

It's entirely possible I'm going to start thinking of myself as a musician again.
December 12, 2025 at 8:09 PM
I worked so hard to make this happen. I was in the “poor” range for years.

I overhear the weirdest shit. Earlier today I saw 2 people in a parking lot arguing. A guy was sitting on the curb and said very pointedly to a woman that was maybe his wife / gf.

“If you’re just going to get a salad don’t waste your money on me!”

I have decided I collect vinyl now. I'm not letting my complete lack of owning a record player deter me at all.

I have like 7 new favorite bands and they’re all made up of members from other bands I like.

Last night was cool.

If we're just making up awards and letting an unrelated organizations hand them out I really feel like I should be the inaugural winner of the Dr. Pepper Best Hiker Award.
December 5, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Oh cool a band I like is playing in town. I just have to create an account on StubbyBuddy, sift through The Ticket Thicket to see what's available, agree that a purchase still doesn't fully guarantee admission and then link every credit card I've ever had to the Pay-a-palooza page. Super easy!

"It costs nothing to be kind."

Really? Have you not met 'most people?' Because I only offer kindness as part of my premium membership benefits.

The hardest part about being an "adult" is the volume of bullshit you have to endure without completely losing it and screaming, "Why is any of this the way we do things?!?"

And your reward keeping it together is to get up and do a different version of it again the next day.

Repeat indefinitely.

Fuck trying to be funny or interesting, should I just gossip about people that annoy me instead?

Guess I’m a trail runner now. Today I posted my fastest time ever on one of my local trails. I made it up to Verdugo Peak and back in just over 2 hours. 8 miles round trip. That beat my previous best time by over 20 minutes.
