I've made the mistake twice now of putting a transparent gradient behind my pngtuber only to have my computer update and ruin the capture of it. I should stop doing that or put it on a separate layer or something.

In case you want to know how the new free Affinity is, I went to use smart object selection — a tool I first learned how to use in Photoshop over 25 years ago — and it prompted me to download the "object segmentation ML model", at which point it subsequently failed to find my clearly-defined edges.

I've been prototyping games since at least 2010. Most of those games were never finished, but I made *loads* of pixel art for some of them. I'm considering polishing up some of those old prototypes into asset packs or something. 🤔

It's odd remembering the internet from my childhood, and feeling the ways in which it has both grown and shrunk. It feels as if all knowledge is becoming more occult, less accessible, even as it's "easier than ever" to share knowledge or ideas, in theory.

One reason I didn't super love the Sheikah Shrine idea that I haven't seen articulated elsewhere is that it very much evoked Portal and set me up to await the veil to be lifted and see "red ants underneath" but it never comes. Underneath this bizarre, out of place hamster run is... Nothing.
