It's not about the length of life, it's about quality of life and not having the inevitable doom of age related mortality shadowing our whole lives.

The answer is dependent on the conditions: if I'm a human, I don't want to live for long as it's inevitable that I'll suffer exponentially over time. If I'm a posthuman with no outdated traditional nerve endings however, then it would likely make sense to live forever IF we can remove all errors.

This really ought to bring tears (of joy!) to people's eyes. It's still imperfect, but what an incredible achievement!
Few people even know about this; when people are asked in surveys how child mortality has changed the majority says it has stagnated or increased.
If you consider that many don't know about humanity's biggest achievement, then it's not surprising that many are so pessimistic about our future.

My opinion: Nothing in this space is very good, yet. Not Threads, not Mastodon, not Bluesky. But on the central priorities tradeoff here—Bluesky has made the choice I care about more: credible data portability.

My opinion: Nothing in this space is very good, yet. Not Threads, not Mastodon, not Bluesky. But on the central priorities tradeoff here—Bluesky has made the choice I care about more: credible data portability.
