I really want to see someone write a critically reimagined review of the entire tech landscape from, say, 2004 to the present, as primarily being an architecture for marshaling and directing harassment.
For @spitfirenews.com, I found that increasingly realistic AI-generated videos are being deployed to harass, smear, and create endless offensive content of influencers, whose likenesses are already readily available online. It’s happening to private figures, too.

This made me sick to read but this is exactly why we have to talk about surrogacy not existing in a perfect world and within our reality it being a tool to abuse women. In and of itself it sounds like there shouldn’t be issues with informed consenting adults doing it, but we live in this timeline

I’ve loathed Malcom Gladwell since high school when I had to read Blink and he used the term “temporary autism” to describe bad decision making under distress. If Malcom Gladwell has no haters I am cold in the ground. No fucking surprises here
Gladwell has always been the quintessential charlatan, using his capacity as a storyteller to worm his way into the hearts (and wallets) of bored audiences eager to hear that there's one cool trick that could unlock the truth of the world. Still, turning on trans ppl in an hour of need is a new low.
