Potentially unpopular opinion regarding latest Gov’t line on teacher pay - yes a pay increase is welcome, but real issue that needs tackling is workload. A 2, 5, or 10% increase does nothing to make workload easier in my opinion. Something gets removed and immediately replaced with something else.

Huge expanses of mangroves on Sri Lanka’s east coast too, this was taken shortly after taking off from Trincomalee heading back to Colombo 🌳 #geographyteacher

Looking back through some pictures from our trip to Sri Lanka in the summer. How cool are these for teaching about meanders! #geographyteacher

Spending wellbeing day off school getting Dexter, our newly adopted cat who came home last night, settled at home. He’s being so brave already! 🐱

Non-teaching post but I did my first Vinted sale this weekend and I genuinely feel like an entrepreneur in the making 🤣

Quite a “theory heavy” teaching day today, covering middle course river landforms with Year 10, tropical storms with one Year 11 class and global atmospheric circulation with the other.

And the kids absolutely aced it 👏

Hello Bluesky 👋 Happy to join the rest of the #geographyteacher community over here, given what X has now become. I didn’t share a huge amount on there, but perhaps I can get into better habits here!

Here I am with an upside down globe a few weeks ago in Lisbon 🌍

Last year's 0.75 cm rise was the largest year over year increase in global mean sea level during NASA's 31 year record of satellite based measurements. Viz by AJ Christensen.
