I was out in the yard picking up dog poop and saw one with a paw print.
Remembered the faint outline of a paw on my pillow that smelled funny.
Didn’t make the connection until now.

Jocelyn Bell Burnell transformed astronomy #OTD in 1967 when she made the first observation of a pulsar.
She and advisor Antony Hewish initially dubbed the object LGM-1 (“Little Green Men”) for its regular signal, but soon identified it as a rotating, magnetized neutron star. (1/n)

She used the prize money to set up a fund supporting students from under-represented groups. (11/n)

I’ve been seeing electronic billboards similar to this around the SF Bay Area. Is it just me or is anyone else enraged by this? It’s a disingenuous platitude given the recent election, especially in California. I really want to buy ad space immediately after to show how a lot of us really feel.
