An amazing piece of work led by (my brother in science) Joshiwa van Marrewijk and Thomas Morris.

Are you building a single-dish telescope (not not talking about you, @atlastdesign.bsky.social) and want to test for mapping and filtering strategies, atmospheric mitigation, etc?

Just ask maria.

In this new paper led by Joshiwa van Marrewijk we demonstrated that AtLAST’s 50m-diameter provides the highest levels of correlation of atmospheric signals across adjacent detectors compared to smaller apertures: AtLAST will be great at removing submm atmospheric signal on large scales 🔭
