I find myself thinking a lot just now about GK Chesterton's line that we 'need to hate the world enough to change it, but love it enough to think it worth changing'.

Proud to be part of a Group that offers a viable alternative and doesn't accept year after year of cuts 🌹

We won’t settle for year after year of cuts. The Tories continue to put the heaviest burden on the lowest income families and people who most need local services.

We’ll offer an ambitious programme that will actually transform council services. Here's how⬇️

Bromley Council want to introduce parking charges for disabled Blue Badge holders.

It will isolate some of our most vulnerable residents.

My letter to the Conservative Leader of Bromley Council asking him to stop these callous and ill-thought through plans ⬇️

Really powerful words, brilliantly put. Solidarity with Jess Phillips.
We're proud of this statement from the Labour women, originating in Bromley and now spreading across South London.

We stand in solidarity with Jess Phillips and we are disgusted at the hateful comments towards her by Elon Musk and others.

Incredibly proud of all the work my cousin has done in helping to get the assisted dying bill to where it is now.

This is Lucy's story. TW: it's a difficult read.

The right decision. Well done to my Bromley Labour colleagues for challenging this.
Bromley Labour welcomes council U-turn on Norman Park car park charges

Bromley Labour is delighted to hear that, following widespread public opposition, Bromley Conservatives have u-turned and decided not to add parking charges to the two free car parks at Norman Park.

Today is #WhiteRibbonDay. It's vitally important to raise awareness and tackle male violence against women and girls.

Men, we need to hold ourselves accountable and take a stand.

Anyone who thinks our benefit system is too generous, has clearly had their common sense surgically extracted by the Daily Mail.
Losing your job is financially catastrophic (esp for mortgage payers, who drop to just 12% of an average wage overnight). And our sickness benefits bill is similarly mean.

There's so many heartbreaking cases like this.

Signing up to the stem cell register is quick and donating is usually pretty straightforward.

The impact however, is lifesaving.
🚨8-year-old Lilian has a rare blood disorder & needs a #lifesaver! Her stem cell donor match fell through, leaving her family devastated💔

Now, she’s back at square one but you can help by registering as a DKMS stem cell donor. It’s easy to do🙏

We are deeply saddened to hear the news that John Prescott has died. John was a staunch defender of local government & a passionate supporter of devolution. He was a great campaigner who will be missed by so many in our Party.

Our thoughts are with Pauline, Jonathan & David.

🧵There's a line of thought that Trump's victory means progressive causes are doomed in the court of public opinion. I don't think that's true, but I do think it shows more thought needs to be given to what ought to be a tautology but infact often isn't - inclusive progressivism.

The Tories promised to end no fault eviction in 2019 and failed to deliver in 5 years, because despite having an 80 seat majority they were in hoc to their backbenchers.

Bluesky feels like moving onto a new house. It's lovely, but need time to make it feel like home. Wonder what the neighbours are like 🤔

Let's hope no moronic billionaires come in and trash the place.
