The French would like to thank the UK for funding to them.

2020 - 2024: EDF owned by the French state made £91bn operating profit in the UK, subsidises French households/industry.

UK govts oppose public ownership but happy to let foreign govts own UK infrastructure, export billions of profits.
With bills having gone up, it’s time to take energy back into public ownership
The obscene profits of the energy industry show the sector is broken

The rigs-to-reefs phenomenon is starting to play out at some UK wind turbines.

But, unlike oil rigs, these massive structures are *reducing* emissions caused by burning fossil fuels, which is warming the ocean and devastating marine life worldwide.

Can offshore wind help some fish? Research increasingly says yes.
First shipwrecks. Then oil rigs. Now, it’s offshore wind turbines that are becoming artificial reefs for creatures from haddock to lobster.

The discovery that haddock are utilizing the foundations of wind turbines demonstrates how much researchers are still learning about the potential benefits of installing wind structures in the ocean floor:

Turtles are responding to #climatechange by nesting earlier 🐢

In sea turtles, temperature determines the biological sex of offspring, with more females when it's warmer - and fewer successful hatchings when it gets too hot
