I don’t think people understand how devastating the end of net neutrality, and consumer protections around internet connectivity, are going to be. Imagine the situation where you pay for 4 or 5 different streaming services, each with different “exclusives” — but for the Internet itself.

Building on #ATProto is great because your users arrive with

1. An identity that their followers trust
2. A canonical, personal, public database

This means a lot of simple apps no longer need a backend! Check out this simple redirection service I built (link2.blue) to illustrate this point.
