Quite amazing in retrospect how the channel was at it's peak during the time it was on the kids section of both Sky and NTL's EPGs (though it wasn't when we first got it where it was placed alongside the entertainment channels), and how quickly the bloom faded when it was removed from there

Re the confirmation on Sky One coming back... is it too much of a sin to say that the first exposure I had of the original channel was the OnDigital/ITV Digital version of it? Not that I ever knew that it was different from the regular one way back when, but still

In hindsight, the Word Master serial was probably the last good one for the Look and Read series. Never really took a liking towards the few editions that followed it (just as well that Class TV from CBBC was showing the 1970s-90s editions a year and a half later)
