31 years since they first aired it too believe it or not...

The recent news on the closure of Pop and Tiny Pop (as linear channels) has brought me again to this TV Live Forum post by @vmphil.bsky.social about the former channel's launch in 2003 as Toons n Tunes, and it's funny to think how cheaply run it was then compared to now

There was also a prototype logo made for the channel in the previous branding format that I believe only ever appeared in this document before it launched with the new ITV logo

Recent intriguing yet damaged find: 2/3 minutes of an edition of L&K from early 2000 (halfway through the 7th series) centering around The Simpsons from the brief time it was on the lineup to compete with SMTV Live in the ratings

Also couldn't help but notice this under the listing of the Teletubbies episode shown earlier that day when looking on BBC Genome earlier on today...

Also on the same recording... a Pokemon GameBoy bag of Pikachu is what was deemed worthy of a prize giveaway to those who answered correctly to a Corrie related question on Yorkshire Tonight in June 2000 apparently

Don't think I've seen a better obituary for Windows 10 during yesterday than this one...

Worth noting that the edition of Taggart this ad break comes from (and a few others) was aired in 14:9 (when it wasn't as common place on analogue broadcasts I believe) compared to another later on in the recording which is 4:3

This forum post about Jobfinder (ITV Nighttime filler for most regions from 80s to mid 2000s) springs to mind...

With it being 20 years since ITV's 50th anniversary celebrations (and ITV itself now 70 as of today), I'm immediately drawn again to this TV Forum post from 4 years ago about the former

That feeling when the first programme BBC Four aired today in tribute to the narrator of said show is one that you literally found a few airings of on one of the tape files you were going through last week...

(This particular one was the Zookeeper ep if you're curious)

Bit funny in hindsight now given that the brand itself is returning in the new year and doing away with Sky Showcase and Replay in the process.... (can't find the Digital Spy thread the first image refers to though but stil)

Saw the Pineapple Dance Studios mentioned on the bus map while out and about on Thursday, which reminded me of this legendary and underrated Digital Spy thread opener from 15 years ago

Bit of a curio I found when scrolling through the first few minutes of the tape earlier; the 1989 ITV Sport logo being used for the first rugby match in December 1998 (2 months after the 1998 rebrand) and the then new ITV logo in use for the other rugby match in the second image

Well this will "protect" the data of those who haven't used their Samsung account in 2 years when this is implemented I'm sure...

It was seemingly popular enough though to get its own channel the following year, not that it lasted long until it was replaced with Bravo 2 a couple of months later (the description of the channel's supposed "birth" on Bravo's website is too disturbingly funny for my own good...)

Some more music channel tidbits from the same recording (from the late Box Plus network) - notably a snapshot of what the "Boxtops" segment looked like after The Box's September 2001 revamp and the others using the PresBox playout system after being introduced a year prior

Always thought it was funny how Smile made the game avaliable on mobile at one point (out of all their flash games they had) as it would've looked clunky and inconvenient as opposed to playing on computer

Near month on from this post, and the same has since sadly applied to Adam's archive (his videos not the account) who uploaded similar content (though this one isn't on him being caught out for it, but more so on his accord due to certain commenters)

Probably most notable for also having a certain Asa of TV Forum appear on the show on the wake of the then new personality two's in November 2001 much to the forum's hype...

(I had a lot of fun with the alt text here...) (1/2)

Nor any of these shows for that matter...

Very much already a fan of the adjustments made for Pres Café - the homepage in particular stands out more from its previous design (though the globe in the header with various images of idents is certainly reminding me of one of TV Forum's former headers...)

And finally, the place where newsreaders wearing any black clothing was seen as extremely surreal by the forum's userbase (outside of funeral coverage of course).

But this was all, of course, forum terminology, banter and odd characteristics. Probably. (3/3)
