Sure, but last I heard anything even tangentially LGBT-related got slapped with an age restriction. While it's not a category that I fall into a huge chunk of the tech community does. I wouldn't feel comfortable telling them to engage with a platform that treats them like that for support.

In which Ignacio fixes some pretty egregious texture compression artifacts in one of my older demos. 😁
I've put together an updated version of the Sponza scene with uncompressed PNG and compressed AVIF textures. I wrote about the process and compared the results against KTX.

Anyway do not, under any circumstances, for any reason, give your ID to a tech company or one of their subcontractors

If you could all stop saying "ask for help on the Discord" in lieu of proper documentation, that would be great. (This goes for ANY chat service, but now Discord especially.)

The hole isn't supposed to be there. It's where a black cap typically is connected.

The replies to this post are a wonderful array of anecdotes about people interacting with the Muppets off camera as if they're 100% real actors. I was grinning earlier to ear reading it.
the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style
MY KIDS: so why are there muppets in the AUDIENCE

ME: THE CONCEIT!! IS THAT THEY'RE PUTTING ON A VARIETY SHOW!!! IN A WORLD WHERE MUPPET AND HUMAN COEXIST!!! YOU ARE WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY!! FILMED!! IN REAL TIME!!!

They've been weirdly resilient. I find myself scanning one at least weekly for one reason or another. (Then again, I live in the Bay Area so YMMV?)

It's crazy how *shocking* it is to see a politician interrupted in the middle of a Very Important Press Conference by a kid and the politician just rolls with it, and is even playful with them(!), instead of having them immediately whisked away.

We need more politicians that feel like humans.
Child at the podium: “A woo woo woo.”

Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.

My son's school sent us a survey, which I made the rookie mistake of opening on my desktop PC.

My son was playing a game and observed an NPC doing something weird. I said that their AI probably wasn't too complicated because they were meant to be in the background.

He understood this to mean that an LLM was controlling the character, which in his mind naturally explained it acting dumb. 😂

In 2021 I built a PC with 32Gb of DDR4 RAM. Cost $175 at the time. In light of the AI-driven RAM shortage, I wondered how much it would cost to upgrade to 64Gb.

$500! 🤬

Even just replacing my existing 32Gb would now cost $250-300. For DDR4!

Abolish. The word you're looking for is abolish. There's no reforming this.

My children's favorite genre of music is "<whatever song they're obsessed with at the moment> 10 hour loop".

Currently that means this.

Send help.

I remember almost nothing about the 2011 film "Immortals" except that there's a politician that who insists that there's no need to take extraordinary measures against the invading army at the city gates, and that they should negotiate instead. Negotiations are... Brief. youtu.be/DFFQGZxgk_U?...

Additional data point: I bought batteries specifically to power my house, complimenting my solar panels. They have 15kWh capacity, and can comfortably power my home from sunset to sunrise.

The car I bought around the same time has over 4x the battery capacity! (65kWh)

For Steam Frame? I haven't, mostly because I don't think I'll personally have much time to dedicate to getting it working prior to launch.

I cannot overemphasize enough how important it is every district in the US have someone running on the Democratic line this November. And ideally that it be someone not trash. This is a super important time to be aware of your local primaries. This is actual "Fuck it! Run yourself!" hours
Dems flipped a TX State Senate seat last night which has been held by Republicans for the last 48 years. Trump beat Harris here by 17% -- 58% to 41%. But vet & machinist Taylor Rehmet reversed that, winning 57%-43%.

Reps had pumped $2.5m in compared to Dems $.5m to try to save the seat.
