The ARISS ops teams have shared an update on the status of the radio equipment in the Service Module (Russian Segment) of the ISS.

The Columbus module based radios (Cross-band voice repeater and HamTV) continue to function nominally.
A photo and informational graphic from the Amateur Radio on the ISS (ARISS) program shows a Kenwood D710E ham radio transceiver and microphone newly installed inside the ISS Service Module (Russian segment). The display reads 145.800 MHz. Overlaid text provides an official update as of 20 November 2025: Service Module Radio Update on status of the packet system on the ISS as of 20-Nov. The original Kenwood D710GA radio has been replaced with the onboard spare D710E (shown in the photo). This radio will support Russian school contacts and serve as backup communications. Additional testing of the original D710GA will be conducted to determine the root cause of the recent outage that occurred during an SSTV event. It remains unclear when APRS packet and SSTV modes will be restored. Bottom caption: “Roscosmos image: Kenwood D710E installed in ISS Service Module"

Cet effet est créé par la diffraction de la lumière autour de gouttelettes d'eau de taille identiques dans un nuage très fin.

25 years ago this week the ISS Expedition 1 crew activated their first educational payload. Amateur Radio on the International Space Station went on the air with two test contacts!
