And over the five years we've had it, we've had waves in all four seasons. Which makes it so facepalmy when November 1 hits and suddenly mask mandates come back in healthcare facilities in some places and they start putting up signs about "flu and covid season". YOU'RE SO CLOSE!!
COVID is not a seasonal virus. It circulates all-year-round.

Bill Hader on his cinephilia: ‘I went to sleepovers & people thought we were watching porn but we were watching Taxi Driver & I was studying the shots.
I said ‘See? This is a subjective camera move’ No one else was interested.’
This is verrry relatable.

Canadians are keeping up their efforts to boycott travel to the U.S.

The ongoing decline in air and car travel is part of a broader shift in Canadians’ attitudes toward the U.S. amid tensions over President Trump’s tariffs and the rhetoric that many Canadians feel is condescending.

There are infections of blood. There are infections of the soul. There are I believe, infections of the place. For the land itself may be wounded by our traumas. Where its psychic skin cracks, the spoilings of rot and wickedness can set in. We call such infections hauntings. – Rev. A. Morley

People are in denial about how quickly they could become disabled, unhoused or food insecure

It can happen to anyone & it can happen in an instant

Folks act like those receiving assistance have failed

That they should “try harder”

The system is rigged. It’s failed us, not the other way around

On Veterans Day, I think of my first interaction with wounded Vietnam War veterans, who I visited as Miss World USA.
I think of how impactful it was.
It forever changed my view of war, of sacrifice, of honor, and of suffering.
