I helped get my dad to his old assisted living building today to visit the first time since he had a stroke last year and had to move to a nursing home. Seeing people come to greet him and see how he’s doing and him breaking out into tears was all worth it.

I’m going to a wine tasting tonight and there’s few things I’d less rather do this evening. It’s only an hour though so small sacrifices I guess.

Beyond frustrated with my dad and his reality he’s constructed where he can just somehow magically replace his current doctor with get a new one that will come see him in person and reduce his pills by at least 50%.

Yesterday I went to my friend’s place and his dog was so so so happy to see me. Honestly no one in their life has ever been so happy to see me as she is every time I drop by. The unconditional love of a dog is so pure and I love her so much. And maybe it didn’t hurt that I brought her a toy.

I've been going through an especially tough patch and continue to do so. I'm struggling and relying on some key people in my life, including my friend's dog, to help me get through. It's not easy getting up in the morning and just wishing you could sleep 24/7 straight.

Things I’m looking forward to — seeing the Persephone play The Woman in Black, seeing our nephew and nieces dressed up for Halloween, brunch with friends on Sunday, PV in Feb, petting my friend’s dog, seeing art I’ve never seen before, trying to enjoy Christmas this year after last years tragedy.
