Non-black pill below Average Frustrated Chump (bAFC), social democrat. I would identify as an Incel, but that would give you the wrong idea. I am against misogyny, though I might be critical of aspects of feminism and wokeness.

The Children's Wellbeing and School Bill passed last night, but as @stephenkb.bsky.social notes in his @financialtimes.com imes.com Inside Politics newsletter, it fails to tackle schools' major issue: poor recruitment and retention. In fact, reducing academy freedoms could worsen it.

This is shameful from a party that pretended to have a plan. We’ve seen at least 17 white papers, green papers & state reviews of social-care funding this century. Now Labour is kicking reform into long grass with another review. We know the issues. We need urgent action www.bbc.com/news/article...

Actual apartheid, that is, not the BDS propaganda kind. Then there's ethnic cleansing, which less cautious members of Israel's far right openly long for. These are all ugly outcomes. I have never heard a defence of the settlement enterprise that does a thing to address these fundamental points.

I'm not necessarily agreeing with Aaron that we're all victims of patriarchy and capitalism - but his observation about the left pointing out how capitalism and patriarchy effect men in abstract, but failing to do so with actual individuals is spot on.
We’re all victims of patriarchy and capitalism. I feel like lots of folks on the left are keen to point that out when they want to attack patriarchy and capitalism but somehow forget it when talking about actual men.

Okay, potentially long thread here in response that I'm titling

MEN: WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH THEM IS AND WHY THEY'RE LIKE THAT

The central problem that the vast majority of straight (and most gay, bi etc.) men have is that their demand for sex vastly exceeds any possible means of 'supplying' it...
1. I’m thinking aloud here, as I really don’t have the answers. This is a thread about the political challenge of the very large numbers of young men now supporting the far right. I’m writing it without blame or derision. I’m just trying to find a way through. 🧵

The irony about that angst is that (in wealthy countries) the birthrate is positively correlated with gender equality, sharing of chores etc

Odd that the people stressing about the birthrate aren't pushing for more gender equality

Great points here, but I do wonder if there might be a significant portion of men who will simply never be appealing to truly emancipated women, no matter how much good-intentioned work they put into themselves.
