So much talk along the lines "on Bluesky we do this, but we don't do that". I think everyone is free to do their thing, so I wanted to share how I use this app.

María and Julia just made my little gay heart go boom. That performance ticked so many fabulously camp boxes on my list. A thing of beauty. #BenidormFestFinal

Izan Llunas at Benidorm Fest. I had a little crush on his dad long before Izan was born. I need to go double-check how old I really am.

Being a backstage interviewer at Benidorm Fest must be the easiest job ever. You don’t need to ask any questions, just hold the microphone and everyone will talk like their lives depended on it.

Song 03 - Turista by Asha - is really cute and catchy. I could see myself sit-dancing to it this summer. #BenidormFest

Tuned into Spanish tv to see if Benidorm Fest started. They’re having some sort of pre-party broadcast where everyone’s in a good mood and where everyone is talking more than the average Finnish person does in a lifetime.

Read a few articles to keep up with the winter olympics. IOC president Kirsty Coventry is a real flop, isn't she?

After a few lean days, it was a lot colder again this morning so let me tell you this:
-16°C > -3°C. Always.
Controversial but true.

Kommunen bara betalar.
Det måste bli slut på, ithy

Något måste beslutas:
Hundarna skjuts! Inte sant?
Nästa åtgärd: De fattiga skjutas,
så spar kommunen en slant.

I know cis people don't realize the cruelty, so with gentleness and empathy for them, let me try to explain.

Being trans is difficult. Instinctively, you already know this because you think it would be better not to be trans.
“We would expect support for full social transition to be agreed very rarely”
There you have it, the gov wants trans kids to rot in the closet
This explicit transphobia is spelled out in excruciating detail. Direct from Cass again.

When optical discs were fairly new, they were often said to be as good as indestructible. I go through our children's dvd section in the library and realise people still seem to think they are.

Can I do a little work humblebrag now this very minute, please? I did a book talk in a school and managed to sell a book pretty well: in a five-minute span after my visit SEVEN reservations were made for this very title.

Loud boys at computers, and me walking toward them to ask them to lower their voices.

Then, I hear the loudest say, "That's just your internalized homophobia, dude. Why does it bother you?" followed by silence followed by "Why does it bother you?"

I spun on my heel and walked away.

Jag lovar att jag inte ska bli typen som sitter och orerar om dagens Rabbel. MEN. Ett av dagens ord var ”gonnabe”. På riktigt? Om inte det är ett hittepå-ord så vete gudarna. *hytter med näven, muttrar mot himlen*

When my kids was about five, we were at a restaurant, and some people got up to leave. He asked why we couldn't eat the fries they left behind, and that was the toughest thing I've had to explain as a parent.
always so funny to me when people are like “how am I supposed to explain Gay to my kids?” my kid asks me way harder shit all the time. “why did they build the road this way? why are some people bad?” I don’t know. please ask me about Gay

Winter Olympics. When I watch a sport I know nothing about, I go very predictably gay and cheer for the cutest athlete.

The opening ceremony decided to go all in with the peace messaging. Given the EU reluctance to accepting refugees, it could be seen as just an empty gesture. But in these times it felt refreshing to hear people say these things out loud.

The first Olympic opening ceremony I actively watched was Calgary 1988. I was really taken by the whole thing, so when the Summer Games in Seoul came around later the same year, I set my alarm clock to four in the morning so I could watch that opening too.

I love this beautifully unhinged dance tribute to 100 years of winter olympics. I live for things like this.

This year’s Opening Ceremony trend: delegations attempting some sort of more or less synchronised TikTok-esque dance movements. There’s a fine line between awesome and cringe.
