Here for the "fish" 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 🐟 👍🌌

A bit of a geek for data, facts, rationality, mental models, value investing (long term, not to be bundled in w/ gamblers/traders that call themselves "investors"), thinking, analysis, spreadsheets...

Great example of how Trump values obscuring/skewing reality & behaving like a communist country or dictator wanting people in the dark. $AMZN shining light on the real world implications of half baked tariffs & attempting band-aid, short cut fix to a long term problem www.cnbc.com/2025/04/29/w...
White House blasts Amazon over tariff cost report: 'Hostile and political act'
The White House slammed Amazon for reportedly planning to display the cost of President Donald Trump's tariffs next to the total price of products on its site.

Intent vs. Reality: Electoral College was meant to balance power, but now favors a tiny fraction of voters. 🤯Campaigns mostly focus on swing states, ignoring the rest of the country. This creates disproportionate influence & election outcomes. Time for reform! #ElectoralCollege #DirectDemocracy

Blindly "buying the dip" & dumb money, automatic index fund buying are examples of unintelligent investing that aren't concerned with valuation or logical evaluation & help prop up stock prices & perpetuate rampant premiums/overvaluation, herd mentality.

Please, explain what I'm missing...

"Liberation day" April 2nd was liberating us from our sanity and capital gains.

He should have done it on April 1st for April Fools, since it's a joke and he's a joke.

Everyone please take a minutes to process the distinction between EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, not EQUAL OUTCOMES. It sounds similar, but it's a world of difference & incentives are aligned. I think that's what's really meant by "equality", not the extremes expected by liberals or limited by conservatives

Highly recommend reading this Dimon(d) gem ($JPM) than a bunch of severely biased articles or a few watered down annual letters

Trump folks should study this, way better than the garbage his "economists" are generating, it's a free playbook for them www.jpmorganchase.com/ir/annual-re...

Energy/Oil leads/led to wealth, lack of energy, less wealth. Silly not giving energy the love/appreciation it deserves, while also planning a reasonable transition to cleaner sources on a sensical timeline (& not the ultra-liberal desire to have it all now, with no sense of what's involved) #EconSky

Feels like the big, buyback "cannibal" companies and the "buy the dip" mindless drones feed off each other, and topped off with the dumb money indexes that just keep buying regardless of price and zero analysis or comparing for better potential returns. It's a "dumb money" world #EconSky

Hey Mr. Orange/Bubba Trump, you "don't have the cards" either to take on the whole world you senile, overconfident fool.

Stupid! #EconSky sacrificing huge economic benefits 4 tiny % GDP. Our trade imbalance is <4% GDP, also dumb since we export high value/margin services, tech, software & import low margin products that require huge capex. Sharpen your pencils dummies & focus on gross profits, not simple gross values

Being a U.S. citizen feels like I'm a parent @ a party that has to apologize for my misbehaving child. Sorry, rest of the world. Bully, delusional, psychopathic, egomaniac, morons w/victim/target complex (that's all talk) took over, started a trade war w/everyone (bad odds of success). #Embarrassed

It's amazing & I'm highly appreciative of all the scientists (or scientific minded people) that painstakingly observed, experimented, documented, thought about & shared their findings to make more sense of our world inch by inch, if we don't already we should have a "Thank a scientist day"

You ever get the feeling that we're the guinea pigs in some egomaniacal sociopaths misguided and uninformed experiment that's for really bad odds of a good outcome. Damn Mr. Orange

Musk is so biased, it's ridiculous how obvious his incentives are.
-SpaceX: contracts
-Tesla: deregulation & autonomous (along w/tariffs that kneecap his competitors that aren't as well positions)
X: more chaos=more activity (reinforcement+proof)
xAI: gov't gutting & automating as much as possible

Hoping more of these Trump voters are having "aha" moments and seeing past the lies and words and basing things on the performed actions. Hopefully this learning will stick around for a few generations and not be a tiny blip that only lasts for 1-2 more elections.

So shady, getting rid of transparency and very basic reporting requirements for entities to disclose beneficial ownership (mostly for shell corps and unraveling the onion-like structure)

Pretty clear proof how pro-corruption this administration is. Hello more money laundering & cloaked sneakiness

I think the world would be a better place with more accountability, and rational carrots (aka incentives) AND sticks (aka punishments that actually punish).

It's like "Skin in the game", you gotta be willing to take the upside AND the downside (not just one).
March 22, 2025 at 6:34 PM
I'm all for the environment + green, but the way the ultra liberals go about it, instead of a sensible transition & carrots/incentivizing people to shift more willingly & making the greener option more competitive/exciting, the impatience & sticks/punishments come out & bans. Takeaways rarely work

Not sure I agree that this is monopoly power, just changing the business model, the same way Costco and Walmart did, just invested bigger and sooner and now all the others are playing catch-up after the model is proven, it's not $AMZN fault the others had legacy businesses they were focusing more on
