Anti-trans 'data vandalism' damages scientific research, study finds

The report identifies “an uncritical acceptance” of gender-critical arguments and “not seeing it for what it is, which is a political project, a piece of savvy campaigning”.

New research maps the campaign to erase trans people from UK data 🔢

This peer-reviewed article offers the first detailed account of how UK campaign groups have sought to define sex as strictly biological across the census, policing, healthcare and digital ID.

Incredibly important new study from Cal Horton @fiercemum.bsky.social - the first to look at England's post-Cass child/adolescent gender clinics. Dr Horton found patients and families are being actively harmed, with one young person describing appointments as "the worst thing I’ve ever experienced”.

Within trans youth healthcare two fundamentally different models of care persist, with a significant difference between affirmative and non-affirmative healthcare services. To date there has been l...

New Study finds a significant reduction in suicidality after trans people receive gender-affirming hormone therapy.

Brilliant news from Aotearoa New Zealand, where trans health professionals have won an interim halt to the country's politically-driven puberty blocker ban. Wishing them all the best for further legal action.
PATHA's statement follows: “This is a win for trans young people, their whānau, and the health professionals who care for them. The High Court has recognised the harm this ban will cause, and the significant issues in the decision Cabinet made to restrict access to this life-saving care.”

If the reporting on the Peggie decision tells us anything, it should be that the way news gets reported in this country has little to do with truth, and much more to do with narrative - as well as whose heavily spun press release lands on journos desks first.

In the puberty ban consultation, before it was made permanent, academics like me told the Gov this was happening. We noted the risk of youth who are self-meding avoiding engagement with routine healthcare, leading to wider healthcare inequalities. Our testimony was dismissed as 'anecdotal evidence'
What did you think would happen when you restricted access to care?

one of many parallels between anti-vaxxers & those who oppose gender-affirming care: they start by pretending they have a very specific concern (MMR vaccine, puberty blockers, etc), but once given any sway or say on the matter, they quickly strive to eliminate all of it
