He would often arrive at the studio low-key, with a gentle presence — yet the moment we started recording, his energy transformed the room. His commanding delivery and expert comic timing frequently sent gales of laughter throughout the recording space. Jim was an incredible performer who gave 115% every session. He would often nail a line on the very first take — so perfectly that we’d exchange looks like, ‘That’s it.’ Jim was a pleasure to work with, and I’m deeply saddened by his passing. One of my fav game dev stories ever: For the 10 MINUTE Qwark Opera level in Secret Agent Clank, the devs had forgotten to ask Jim Ward to prep for singing.

When he found out, he said "huh, hold on" & sang the entire thing in nearly A SINGLE TAKE.

Jim Ward, the voice of Doug Dimmadome, Chet Ubetcha, Captain Qwark and more, has sadly passed away at the age of 66, his radio colleague Stephanie Miller confirms.

An old Yoshi's Island art piece I've made back in 2021. The art was styled after the SNES Yoshi's Island art style (crayon-like lineart, colors and shading effects looking similar to a coloring/picture book), especially one of those old official Yoshi's Island wallpapers. The background is based on the Flower Garden from Yoshi's Island as well. The characters shown here are: Yoshi and Baby Mario who are in the middle of this picture. Yoshi is posing while saying "Yoshi!", happily. Baby Mario is on Yoshi's Island, looking at the world around him in curiosity.
