Like five different pieces I wrote for Netflix went live all at once yesterday. I'll take any chance I can get to write about Red Dead Redemption.

Job hunt update: Over 400 applications submitted in the last three months. Two interviews. Talked about it with a friend's mom and without a hint of sarcasm or irony, she told me ICE was hiring.

Anyway, here's my creative portfolio again. Reskeets appreciated. copyfol.io/v/timseppala #hireawriter

I've been chasing a $200 invoice for *checks notes* 14 months. Pinged the EiC this afternoon, after being told in April he'd reissue a check, I'd just need to submit a new invoice. His response is the same as it was three months ago. This is why I largely stepped away from freelance editorial.

In other news, I've been working on updating my portfolio and just staying away from social in general as a way to stay sane. Since 2023 I've written over 50 blogs for Netflix about various games. Here's what that looks like, all in one place! copyfol.io/v/timseppala...

Since getting laid off from the startup I was at in May, the CMO was pushed out to an advisor role, the lone graphic designer left, the CTO left, two of the OG sales guys left. And now all social and content is ChatGPT copypasta. It's low-key been fun to watch that ship circle the drain.

They don’t gotta burn the books, they just remove ‘em. Calvin & Hobbes, so subversive. Fucking cowards. https://pen.org/magic-tree-house-author-calvin-and-hobbes-among-hundreds-of-tennessee-book-bans/

Trump and Miller have been fantasizing about US troops killing protestors in a liberal city for years. They’re very eager to make it happen. I think they believe it would basically stop protests, though

NEW: I went to the Bitcoin Conference and you would NOT believe how much $$$ the crypto industry (and Steak 'n Shake) threw at the GOP!

Steak 'n Shake paid for Bone Thugs! TRON paid for a champagne glory hole! And Coinbase paid for Donald Trump's military parade!

This is so jarringly unAmerican that I sort of hope it wakes some normies up. It is occurring in a context where military-style equipment is being used to enforce immigration roundups and conveys the notion that we are increasingly living in a police state.
In preparation for next week’s parade/demonstration, tanks are being moved into Washington, DC today. Unprecedented.

"So here's the plan -- we impose massive tariffs on the nations that sell us food."

"Hmm."

"But it's OK, because we just rely more on states like California that grow a lot of the same things."

"Oh, I guess that ..."

"And then we go to war with California."

Main character energy is OUT, this summer we’re bringing NPC energy. We’re posted up at the bar dropping lore and suggesting side quests. We’re leaning casually near a locked door and saying “I don’t think you have the key for that” when someone tries the handle. We’re staring at a tree.

Happy 17th birthday to GTA IV and my writing career.

How it started: sitting in a GameStop parking lot jotting notes from man on the street interviews into a 5-subject

How it’s going: Chasing an invoice that’s almost a year old

To date, this marquee copy is the biggest thing I’ve ever written

Some rightwing tweeter mocked pictures of my colleagues with queer-looking hairstyles. Musk saw this, wrote "that group has been deleted," and fired us all.
