«The Macedonian teenagers didn’t care about the politics. The American right, especially the emerging MAGA ecosystem, was simply a dream customer: highly engaged, highly inflamed, and extremely willing to click through to garbage sites that paid out ad revenue.»
By me: a brief history of foreign agitators pretending to be Americans over the last decade, with most out to make a buck monetizing the culture war 💸(politics matter less than you think), and what X’s new feature shows…

In Opinion | Was exercise always this miserable? “In the good old days, I went to spin class, and there was nary a number in sight,” the writer Rachel Feintzeig writes. But now, “I get on my Peloton and am confronted with a veritable dashboard of my inadequacies.”
Opinion | Exercising Is the Worst
Exercise has never been fun, but our expectations for physical performance, what it means to be healthy, and what it means to age have gotten too high.

Books. 📚 I love them, I read them and I want my child to see that her parents are reading books and not just staring at screens. Yet, here is my issue: I’m getting older, my eyesight is getting worse and I swear the font sizes of paperbacks have been getting smaller. Thus I have to buy ebooks. 🤷‍♂️

So as an NGO you basically cannot advocate for your cause (using ads) any longer. Of course this *could* mean that posts that get genuine engagement will be rewarded, but it will probably just mean even more ads for stuff I’m not interested in.
Meta ends (at least for now) political ads in the EU today. Per their ad library data, they've run nearly 11,000,000 different political, social and issue ads in the EU since 2018 and made around €800m from them.

This piece is just an essential, important and excellent intervention as Coates' Vanity Fair essay was. One NYT column isn't that important, but an accommodationist mindset has spread in center-left elite circles. And it should be rejected forcefully. democracyamericana.com/posts/c5d024...

Fact-checking isn’t censorship. But here’s the letter.

The killer irony is that Google says *the Biden Administration pressured them — and they resisted.*

So, they resisted then, but now they’re repenting and…accommodating Jordan, who calls this “oversight”.
