Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

The Good Place
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

Kicking off 2026 with a little heard 70s album.

We are moving to a new schedule for 2026, one album from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s each month.

15 years focusing on 90s albums has been great, but the more we explore the deeper we want to go, while keeping the thread of the 90s at the forefront.
Robert Plant vocals. Jimmy Page guitar tones. Black Sabbath riffs.
This album had EVERYTHING except the one thing that mattered most. Is this the most frustrating “what if?” in 70s Rock? #heavy70s #protometal open.substack.com/pub/digmeout...

Here's a question I've enjoyed asking on various social media platforms. What are vocabulary words you have learned from songs? For example, I learned the word "raze" from REM's World Leader Pretend.

Went to IKEA today and upon entering found the escalator to the 2nd floor was out of order, which immediately made me think of the classic Mitch Hedberg joke, "An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs."

Wife and 13yo daughter discussion this morning, no idea how it started:

W - In my school, a student stabbed a teacher as part of a gang initiation.
D - What does that mean?
W - The gang made them do it in order to join.
D - Wasn't there a good gang she could join that doesn't stab people?

Go into any resale store, they always have a dozen working DVD players for $20-30.
A (quite) young movie lover said to me recently, "Not everybody can afford a DVD player," and I said "How much do you think a DVD player costs?"

He said, "I don't know, like $500?"

Those of us who advocate physical media are maybe not doing the best job of messaging.

Instead of wasting time trolling for hate clicks on properly assessed trash, maybe write about great stuff that got overlooked.

Literally 10 of thousands of albums, TV shows, movies, etc. have been overlooked, underappreciated, never given a chance, etc. by mainstream audiences.

Instead, this.
