Reading about affirmative action for my political theory seminar right now is… difficult, to say the least. Rigorous arguments about the philosophical merits of social policy feel irrelevant with the thick fog of election-based doom clouding things.

Minesweeper, but with Dark Matter.

Use weak gravitational lensing to track down otherwise invisible dark matter.

Would it be crazy of me to think that we can give a syntactic account of the structure of scientific theories based on intuitionistic FOL rather than classical FOL?

It seems plausible to me since we can "embed" classical FOL in intuitionistic FOL via Godel-Gentzen double negation

Does anyone have advice for writing a philosophy (of science) paper that uses some mathematical tools as part of its argument? I'm having trouble being concise while explaining enough for the argument to be clear to someone unfamiliar with the math.

Been lurking for a while -- I figure I should do something of an introduction.

Currently an MA Philosophy student writing a thesis in which I compare a couple of accounts of scientific theories.

Still learning the ropes around here, but like what I've seen so far.
