Oh great, YouTube discourse has now moved beyond 'practical effects looked better' and 'old movies looked better' to 'old CG looked better'. Can't wait for a new video on this dopey take to pop up in my recommends every day for the next month.

Can confirm Raiders Of The Lost Ark is such a good movie that it's still pretty enjoyable via your next door neighbour watching it at what must be eardrum-popping volume.

A rare moment of honest diplomacy from the Console Scum ❤️
Being console gaming scum I haven’t played the Ben and Dan games.

But I have played all the others, and I’ve bought Lair of the Clockwork God and The Swindle twice. It’d be worth the money just for those alone at that price.
Okay, it's that time again: you can currently buy all available Size Five games on Steam at 75% off. That's six brillo games for less than a tenner! What a festive treat!

Saw this in the blurb for the @blankcheck.bsky.social episode on Avatar 3, and it sums up my feelings perfectly:
"Yes, this movie’s a bit messier than the previous ones. Yes, it repeats many of the same beats as The Way of Water. No, we do not care. We are too distracted by our new Na’vi queen."

Incredibly irresponsible of the BBC to use the hashtag TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1990 here. Do they *want* kids to start nunchucking each other?

I see a lot of people now, mostly zoomers but also forgetful millennials & gen-xers, getting angry at shows for having cliffhangers, as if that weren't a millennia-old narrative device, or even a weekly release schedule, as if that wasn't the universal standard for the first 70 years of television.
Any zoomer babies who can't handle tv cliffhangers should definitely avoid Physical Asia unless they can binge it for 14 hours because the end of almost every single episode is BRUTAL.

@timegentleman.bsky.social and @danthat.bsky.social for the second funniest writing in games, periodt. I have never played a game of theirs that doesn't actually make me LOL multiple times.
Gamedevs don’t get enough appreciation for what they do, and often the biggest impact comes from people the public never hears about.

Which gamedevs would YOU give an award to, and for what?
