I got a QMK/Via programmable macropad, loving it so far. The only thing is that I've got decades of Vim and reaching away from the keyboard for anything is very unfamiliar. Trying to find a place to put it that feels natural is a challenge.

If anyone has an cool uses I'd love to hear them!

Like me, many Albertans are caught in the middle between those who defend and oppose the government at all costs.

Fortunately, Peter Lougheed provided us with guidelines for how to approach these issues.

Horrific
This is new. GitHub Copilot knows I'm on the Vite team and personalizes its reply. Seems to infer just from my username.

From Taylor Swift to Graham Platner, the internet has been lighting up with talk of far-right and Neo Nazi dogwhistles lately.

Luckily for you, I’m fluent in the language of the worst people on the internet.

Today, I’m breaking down some common symbols, sayings and images of the far right:

🚨 This is inexplicable news to share. If in Alberta and you want flu and covid shots for NEXT year (2026-2027), you have only until December 15 of THIS year to order them.

This is not incompetence. It’s a deliberate choice to prevent as many people ..

Got the First Alert SC5 smoke and CO detector that is supposed to be the successor to the Nest Protect abandoned by Google.

They spared every expense on the speakers for this thing. Sounds like a woman taking your order from fast food drive thru circa 1985.

At least the mount is it compatible :/

At tonight’s “consultation”…

When a high school kid tried to raise concerns about the teachers strike, Bruce McAllister cut the kids mic and then suggested his parents should have beaten him more.

Listen to the clip yourself…

It’s…

Telling.

Yup.

Danielle Smith said that.

Out loud and everything.

Canada's foreign affairs minister got back to me about top scholars' finding that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.

It...wasn't great.

Meanwhile, Poilievre is out here calling Palestine the "Hamas state."

But where leaders fail, the people step up: the Global Sumud Flotilla is setting sail.

I adore Star Trek Strange New Worlds, I rank it 3rd of all the series. This season though... the writing is a tad sloppy.

Lots of nitpicky stuff, that with small tweaks, could've been tightened up. Individually they're forgivable but adding up is grating. I find I'm scoffing for the wrong reasons.

We lost one of the greats. Graham Greene was not only an actor but a trail blazer. He opened doors for so many of us Natives. I'm proud to say that the very first pilot I ever acted in was with Graham Greene. The pilot was never picked up but I get to say that I got to work with one of the greats.

Trying to be a more diligent about tracking my food and I've noticed a strong correlation between the days I have a protein rich breakfast and good interactions with Vyvanse. I feel like a hypocrite because I advocate listening to experts but I'm so loosey goosey about this advice. #adhd

Remember how the UCP claimed they were re-writing the Freedom of Information Act to make it more transparent?

About that.

In a shock to no one, it was about doing exactly the opposite.

10 years and counting Meta regularly reinforces my decision to remove myself from their ecosystem
Meta is testing chatbots that can message you proactively on Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram, following up on your convos and remembering your interests. They say it’s about meaningful connections, but it’s also a new way to keep you engaged—and boost ad revenue.

One of the code bases I used to work on uses Angular 1.x, Vue and recently React. It makes it nigh on impossible for LLMs to provide any usable advice.

It's like nightshade for code. 🤣

Executive function is really taking a hit today. Phone app is reminding me to take the #adhd meds every 5 minutes, I've taken the meds but haven't verified it in the app because my phone is upstairs (but connected to my bt headphones.) I've just resigned myself to listening to the notification.

My 7yo has been toying with Scratch Jr & Mario Maker 2 for a year+. We put them into a coding/animation camp this summer and they've taken to it like nothing we've seen before. They are actually enthusiastically telling us what they did that day instead of school's "normal stuff" or "I don't know" 🫠

My SO is my only friend and I find it amusing how it endlessly rotates through their friend list to suggest people to friend.

Even though I'm a corner lot, no services in the drilling area and plan on taking out my fence they said there's not enough room for the drilling rig.
