Not just the spectacle but the lust for fomenting fear and intimidating communities.
Also, I wonder if people get how strange it is that Bovino keeps showing up on all these raids.

He's one of the top-most CBP officials there is. It'd be like if NYPD Commish Tisch kept putting on body armor to do small drug raids in NYC all the time.

Lays bare that this is all about spectacle.
I always thought the term "cosplaying" was overused until ICE/CBP started showing up everywhere. Look at this guy, does he think it's Fallujah? (It's a high school in Minneapolis).

Trade this idiot.
Making a decision to participate in a political movement that's anathema to many Americans — including a large percentage of Cubs fans — only ensures that Matt Shaw will remain in the spotlight in 2026.

Column: Chicago Cubs’ Matt Shaw enters a new world with his Turning Point USA appearance
Chicago Cubs third baseman Matt Shaw spoke at a Turning Point USA gathering, inserting himself into the middle of the political divide in America.

The Dodgers getting to the World Series is the perfect metaphor for our times. Billionaires buy up all the capital, while penalties to keep them in check (the luxury tax) make no difference, they cook the books to lower costs (deferred payments), and most of the world hates them.

This is close to where I live. I’m enraged. Get these ICE motherfuckers out of our communities.
ICE drag girl out of car & body slam her to ground—then pin her face down & kneel on her neck.

"I'm 15!" she cries out. "I'm not resisting!"

Agents have now asked multiple area housing associations to unlock main doors—so they can go door to door.

This is some of the most infuriating shit I’ve ever seen.

I’ve been to every big city in this country and then some and none of them compare to Chicago. Would never leave!

When the Cubs began the 2016 season, my band wrote another anthem in hopes it might propel them to a World Series championship. We’d like to think it worked. Check it out if you’re a fan of bands like Dropkick Murphys. hotalice.bandcamp.com/track/fly-th...

Hegseth is exactly the type of Gen X douchebag whose high school wardrobe was nothing but Co-ed Naked and Bad Boy Club tee shirts.

Super stoked to announce that Allister will be playing next year’s Slam Dunk Festival in Hatfield/Leeds UK. Stacked lineup… can’t wait!

I’m in the Chicago suburbs and have been seeing these all day during Sunday football.

I re-read this every year on 9/11. I’d encourage you to spend some time with it. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever read. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...
What Bobby McIlvaine Left Behind
Bobby McIlvaine was 26 when he died in the attacks. Two decades later, his loved ones are still grappling with the loss.

A white guy kills another white guy and it’s the HBCUs that receive death threats. The most perfect distillation of America.

Just spent 3 days in NYC on subways and buses and I couldn’t have had a better time. 10/10. Would recommend.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and lived for baseball. Still do. Played little league, travel, and high school, almost always at 2nd base. Ryne Sandberg was such a huge influence on me. RIP to a true legend.

The Trump lawsuit against Murdoch and the WSJ should be a prime opportunity to establish a rule that if the president is too busy to answer litigation when he's a defendant, he's simply too busy to initiate a lawsuit.

This argument is so ridiculously disingenuous. Masks were recommended and mandated in some places in 2020 to help stop spreading a disease that killed over 1 million people.

ICE masks’ sole purpose is to hide the identity of government thugs kidnapping community members.
MIKE JOHNSON: From the people who mandated mask wearing for years, it's absurd. They need to back off ICE & respect our agents

Q: So you're ok w/agents not identifying themselves when they're arresting migrants?

J: Why, so they can target them? So they can put names and faces online and dox them?

Giving billionaires tax cuts is bad.
Cutting health care for millions is bad. Slashing food assistance for children is very bad.

But throwing billions of dollars to a militarized gestapo to kidnap and imprison people they don’t like is an abomination. We’re not prepared for what will come.

Jaime Pressly once walked up and casually bummed a smoke from me outside of Anaheim House of Blues, said thanks, and continued on her way.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

This is beyond deranged wtf
Kristi Noem has been working with the producer of “Duck Dynasty” to pitch a reality TV show—titled “The American”—where immigrants will compete in a string of challenges across the country “for the honor of fast-tracking their way to U.S. citizenship,” according to a new report.
Noem Plots Reality Show Where Migrants Fight for Citizenship
A Homeland Security official told the Daily Beast that the show is in the early stages of vetting, though approval has not been given—or denied.
