Here's the biggest PSE story you haven't heard yet: the Canada Student Grant for low-income students is being cut from $4200/year to $3000/year as of next August. It's implicit in the budget tables but the government is too chickenshit to actually say so directly.

Yeaaaaaaaah, I'd be willing to bet TWO full coffee that we aren't seeing science research funding directly.
I'll be the first to applaud the federal government if we actually see new investments in research and science.

I fear, instead, we're about to see significant cuts.

Fingers crossed that when Carney shows us what kind of leader he is, we'll be clapping.
Massive investment in science in the upcoming Canadian budget would send a strong message that rationality and reason should lead the world, not charlatanism. People will return to science-based policies and health measures, and countries that have not given up will have a strong economic lead!

WeTransfer just changed their TOS giving themselves permission to train AI on any content you transfer and produce derivative works based on content you transfer that they are allowed to monetize and you are not allowed payment for.
